The West Kelowna Warriors have signed three more players for the 202223 BC Hockey League season.

Bobby May, a Davidson, N.C., native whose family originates in Winnipeg was a part of Kimball Union Academy (USHS-Prep) where he tailed three goals and 20 assists during the 2021/22 season.

“We are very excited for Bobby to officially join the Warriors family,” said Warriors General Manager and Head Coach Simon Ferguson in a statement. “Bobby was one of the top defenders on his team this season at KUA he’s a player who keeps the game simple and will frustrate the opposing teams forwards.”

May attended the Warriors Boston Development Camp earning a spot on the 2022-23 roster,

I’m excited to play for the Warriors” said May. “I would like to thank my parents for all their sacrifice and support, Coach Whitehead for helping me develop into the player I am today and lastly Coach Simon Ferguson and the rest of the Warriors coaching staff for giving me the opportunity. The fans can expect

a shutdown, puck moving defenceman that likes to jump up in the rush.”

Matthew Lee, 16, a St Catharines, Ont., native, spent last season with Bishop Kearney’s U16 Selects team. We are very excited for Matty to officially join the Warriors family,” said Ferguson. “Matty plays the game with a high level of IQ and compete but also has the ability to put the puck in the net.”

Lee attended the Warriors Boston Development Camp as well.

“It feels amazing to commit to the Warriors.” said Lee. “The two times I’ve come up to skate with the Warriors in the past the guys were super welcoming. You can tell by the environment everyone from the ownership to the players, they want to win. I like to describe myself as a hardworking, 200 foot forward who can be used in any game situation.”

Luke Devlin is the most recent addition to the team.

Born in Memphis, Tenn., and residing in Greater Toronto, he led the St Andrew’s College Saints in scoring this past season with 19 goals and 28 assists

in 44 games.

“We are very excited for Luke to join the Warriors family,” said Ferguson. “Luke is a player we followed for a couple seasons, Luke brings size, speed and an ability to make plays and put the puck in the net.”

The 6’4 192 pound forward is familiar with the BCHL. He has several teammates committed to other clubs in the league, including his older brother Ian Devlin who is currently with the Coquitlam Express.

The Warriors host the Express on March 11.

“March 11th is definitely circled on my calendar”, said Devlin. “I’m stoked to take our basement mini stick battles from years ago to the BCHL.”

The trio join a host of other new recruits, including Nolan Joyce, forwards Ben MacDonald, Jaiden Moriello, Kailus Green and Felix Caron.

The Warriors travel to Anaheim next month for the Anaheim Development Camp.
