LEVY, Beatrice “Bea”

-

16th February 1931 to 20th February 2023 Beatrice “Bea” Levy passed away peacefully Monday, the 20th of February 2023, just 4 days after her 92nd birthday. She is much loved and missed by her two daughters and granddaughter. Born in Nova Scotia, Bea was the youngest of 10 children. She grew up on a farm by the sea. Her siblings played the guitar and accordion and held community dances in their barn. This idyllic childhood coloured Bea’s philosophy of life and the legacy she passed on to her children. Bea looked beyond the surface of things. She had a deep connection with animals and nature. She chose her friends by the capacity of their hearts, regardless of age, race, economic status or sexual orientation. She danced to her own drum. Openness of mind and heart were her legacy. She loved to make people smile. Bea had a whole repertoire of ways to cheer you up. She could transform a banana into a mouse, tomatoes into roses. She would dress up like a bunny and wiggle her bum until you laughed. She created beautiful candles, centrepieces & crafts for her friends. Bea was a very graceful dancer. Throughout her life, music and dancing were a source of joy. She taught us to celebrate life. Bea also worked at the Penticton Hospital for over 25 years. She was very proud for having volunteered for every Iron Man. And she joined a motorcycle club in her sixties!
