Did you know? – The first tournament was held in 1986 and was called the Quebec Esso Cup. Since then, more than 1,200 NHL draft picks have played in the tournament, including nine of the last 12 first-overall selections (Ilya Kovalchuk, 2001; Rick Nash, 2002; MarcAndré Fleury, 2003; Alexander Ovechkin, 2004; Erik Johnson, 2006; Patrick Kane, 2007; John Tavares, 2009; Taylor Hall, 2010; Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, 2011; Nathan MacKinnon, 2013; Aaron Ekblad, 2014).

Canadian success – Canadian teams have won 13 of the 22 gold medals since the tournament debuted in 1986, but haven’t hoisted the Quebec Cup since Ontario took the title in 2011 in Winnipeg, Man. The United States defeated Pacific 4-0 in last year’s final.
