Lee wants great waterfront access
The capital city may be a waterfront mecca but Charlottetown Mayor Clifford Lee says if he’s elected, he’d like to see more access to the waterfront for the city’s residents.
In the final part of The Guardian’s three-part “Take 5” series, Lee says the beautiful vistas of Charlottetown’s waterfront makes it a favourite spot for the mayor, who is seeking his fourth term in office.
“We have a gorgeous city surrounded by water,” Lee said in an interview with The Guardian.
“The city needs to create more water accesses throughout the city of Charlottetown so people can actually enjoy our waterfront. We’re a city that is totally surrounded by water, and we need to make that waterfront available for people in the city.”
Featured exclusively at The Guardian’s website at www . the - guardian.pe.ca, “Take 5” posed five questions to the three candidates seeking Charlottetown City Hall’s top job. They are Lee, Keith Kennedy and Philip Brown.
Kennedy’s “Take 5” segment was posted on Wednesday. Brown’s went live on Thursday. All three videos can now be found under the videos tab at the top of The Guardian’s homepage.
The Guardian will have an in-depth look at the mayor’s race in Charlottetown on Saturday in print and online. Islanders go to the polls on Monday in 72 municipalities.
