Benefit concert to help Jimmy Stewart

-

A benefit concert for Jimmy Stewart will be held on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2 p.m., at the Murray Harbour Community Centre, 1382 Main St., Murray Harbour.

The Murray Harbour Six plus or minus with Mel Giddings, Wayne MacLean, Amy Swenson and Kenny Chapman will be singing, playing fiddles, guitars and other instruments. Joanne Ford, playing her ukulele or keyboard and singing, will join them on stage.

Norman Stewart will be on hand with entertaining on his mind, singing and playing old and new favourites.

Ryan Chapman will share his gift of music unless Alberta calls him away, and Logan Chapman will sing and play music if his organizers can keep him out of the gardens.

Cindy and Kendra Bell will bring some wonderful harmonies and some good humour, and Joe Taylor and Rachael MacLean will close out the afternoon of music and celebration.

Stewart is working very hard for his recovery and everyone wishes him the best.

There will also be items for a silent auction in the small room next to the library, and lunch will be served.

The Murray Harbour Drama Club and Friends host Friday night ceilidhs, throughout the summer and fall. The club has always been supportive of the community centre and is well known for hosting benefit concerts for those in need. Come out and take in an afternoon of entertainment, lunch, and silent auction and enjoy the Island hospitality of this friendly little village.
