Meaghan Blanchard hosting Together for Huntington Disease concert
On Sunday, Nov. 2, Meaghan Blanchard will host this year’s Together for HD Concert.
Proceeds will go to support research for a cure for Huntington disease (HD) and to support families here on the Island for whom living with HD is a daily reality.
Her guests for this intimate musical evening will be her younger sister, Bridgette Blanchard, and two talented teenagers in a rock/blues duo, Brett and Zak. Huntington Disease (HD) is an inherited brain
disorder that strikes in the prime of life, usually in the mid-30s. Every child of a parent with HD has a 50 per cent chance of developing the disease.
Over its lengthy course, HD leads to total incapacitation and death. Although there is no cure, scientists have made amazing progress in the last several years, and there is confidence that a treatment or cure will be found in the next few years. This will have a domino effect and bring researchers closer to cures for other brain diseases such as Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to hear Blanchard and her musical guests in this Nov. 2 Together for Huntington Disease (HD) Concert 2014 at the Trailside Café in Mount Stewart. For further information or to purchase tickets ($18.60 general admission), go to trailside.ca.
Tickets may also be purchased or reserved at Back Alley Music, 69 University Ave., Charlottetown, 902676-3130.
