Man sentenced for pointing firearm

SUMMERSIDE - Christophe­r Jarvis Boates, 21, of Summerside, recently pleaded guilty a number of charges provincial court. Boates was originally charged on May 24, 2015 in Summerside. He pleaded guilty to mischief, damaging property, breaking and entering, pointing a firearm – a bb handgun – and possession of a firearm while prohibited. He was sentenced to serve 65 days in jail, however, he was given credit for time served, resulting in a total of 14 additional days in custody. He must also serve 18 months of probation.
