Man sen­tenced for point­ing firearm

SUMMERSIDE - Christo­pher Jarvis Boates, 21, of Summerside, re­cently pleaded guilty a num­ber of charges pro­vin­cial court. Boates was orig­i­nally charged on May 24, 2015 in Summerside. He pleaded guilty to mis­chief, dam­ag­ing prop­erty, break­ing and en­ter­ing, point­ing a firearm – a bb hand­gun – and pos­ses­sion of a firearm while pro­hib­ited. He was sen­tenced to serve 65 days in jail, how­ever, he was given credit for time served, re­sult­ing in a to­tal of 14 ad­di­tional days in cus­tody. He must also serve 18 months of pro­ba­tion.
