The fu­neral for Rose Mary Howatt of Char­lot­te­town was held on Satur­day, June 20, 2015 from the Hen­nessey Cut­cliffe Char­lot­te­town Fu­neral Home to the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer where the con­cel­e­brated fu­neral mass was of­fered by Rev­erend Eric Dunn as chief cel­e­brant and homilist. He was as­sisted by Rev­erend Isaac Chack­ala­parampil, Rev­erend Jose Thaip­pa­rampil and Rev­erend Ashok Veer­abathina. The fu­neral pall was placed on the casket by her daugh­ter, Linda Hazel­wood, and sons, John Howatt and David Howatt. The first read­ing was pro­claimed by son, John Howatt, and the sec­ond read­ing was pro­claimed by grand­daugh­ter, Ni­cole Hazel­wood-The prayers of in­ter­ces­sion were of­fered by son, David Howatt. The fu­neral mass was sung by Holy Redeemer fu­neral choir un­der the di­rec­tion of Tom Wilkin­son. The or­gan­ist was Gary Cud­more. They ren­dered the en­trance hymn, Be Not Afraid; the psalm, The Lord Is My Shep­herd; the of­fer­tory hymn, Here I Am Lord; the com­mu­nion hymn, In The Gar­den; the com­men­da­tion hymn, Songs of the An­gels; and the re­ces­sional hymn, How Great Thou Art. The med­i­ta­tion solo, Ave Maria, was ren­dered by Tom Wilkin­son. The pall­bear­ers were Jack Arse­nault, Gerald Coyle, Ralph Dunn, Ster­ling Wil­liams, and grand­sons, Jeremy Howatt and James Howatt. Among those at­tend­ing the fu­neral were mem­bers of the Holy Redeemer Catholic Women’s League. The in­ter­ment took place in the Ro­man Catholic Ceme­tery, where Fa­ther Dunn held the grave­side ser­vice.
