Well-known fid­dler to per­form tonight at Emer­ald ceilidh

Fid­dler ex­traor­di­naire Richard Wood will join Court­ney Ho­gan-Chan­dler, Gor­don Belsher and the Dalziel girls on key­board for the ceilidh to­day at the Emer­ald Com­mu­nity Cen­tre at 7:30 p.m.

Wood’s per­for­mance high­lights in­clude TV guest ap­pear­ances with Sha­nia Twain on “David Let­ter­man” and “Good Morn­ing Amer­ica,” Carnegie Hall with Ir­ish le­gends The Chief­tains, a fea­tured per­former on CBC’s Canada Day on Par­lia­ment Hill, “Rita MacNeil and Friends,” and with Jean But­ler of River­dance on “Celtic Elec­tric.”

Belsher has been en­ter­tain­ing au­di­ences in Canada and around the world for more than a quar­ter of a cen­tury per­form­ing solo at con­certs, ceilidhs, con­ven­tions and pubs. As an ac­com­pa­nist and fea­tured vo­cal­ist with fid­dler Richard Wood, he has toured ex­ten­sively across Canada, the US, the UK, Europe, Ja­pan and Aus­tralia.

The Emer­ald boxcar pub will be open at 5:30 p.m. for food and drinks. Ad­mis­sion is at the door. Ev­ery­one is welcome to at­tend.
