Janet McGarry, Wild­wood to per­form Sun­day at the Cen­tre Stage in Souris

Janet McGarry is an in­te­gral part of Eastern Canada’s vi­brant Blue­grass mu­sic scene, and tours with her band Wild­wood.

They will present an evening of Blue­grass mu­sic in Souris on Sun­day, July 5 at 7:30 p.m.

McGarry is a five- time fe­male vo­cal­ist of the year, earn­ing her a mas­ters in the cat­e­gory at the Eastern Cana­dian Blue­grass mu­sic awards. She is also a proud Daugh­ter of Blue­grass, a group of in­ter­na­tional lead­ing women in blue­grass. McGary’s latest CD, Be­neath a Painted Sky, was re­leased in Au­gust 2014.

At the con­cert, she will per­form sev­eral se­lec­tions from this CD, as well as many other crowd fa­vorites. Ac­com­pa­nied by the leg­endary Eddy Poirier and his grand­son, Bryan Poirier, from Monc­ton, N.B., and her hus­band, Serge Bernard, to­gether, they bring a spe­cial blend of tra­di­tional blue­grass mu­sic to their au­di­ences.

The con­cert, hosted by Souris Live at the Cen­tre Stage, 14 He­brew Av­enue, Souris, be­gins at 7:30 p.m.
