Janet McGarry, Wildwood to perform Sunday at the Centre Stage in Souris

Janet McGarry is an integral part of Eastern Canada’s vibrant Bluegrass music scene, and tours with her band Wildwood.

They will present an evening of Bluegrass music in Souris on Sunday, July 5 at 7:30 p.m.

McGarry is a five- time female vocalist of the year, earning her a masters in the category at the Eastern Canadian Bluegrass music awards. She is also a proud Daughter of Bluegrass, a group of internatio­nal leading women in bluegrass. McGary’s latest CD, Beneath a Painted Sky, was released in August 2014.

At the concert, she will perform several selections from this CD, as well as many other crowd favorites. Accompanie­d by the legendary Eddy Poirier and his grandson, Bryan Poirier, from Moncton, N.B., and her husband, Serge Bernard, together, they bring a special blend of traditiona­l bluegrass music to their audiences.

The concert, hosted by Souris Live at the Centre Stage, 14 Hebrew Avenue, Souris, begins at 7:30 p.m.
