Guin­ness to per­form at ceilidh tonight

The Ceilidh at the Ir­ish Hall on Fri­day, July 3 fea­tures Jim and Laura Far­rell, the hus­band and wife team mu­si­cally known as Guin­ness.

The ceilidh takes place at the air-con­di­tioned Ir­ish Cul­tural Cen­tre lo­cated at 582 North River Road, Char­lot­te­town. Start time is 8 p.m. For more in­for­ma­tion call 566-3273.

The cou­ple has been en­ter­tain­ing au­di­ences in North Amer­ica and Ire­land since the 1980s. Their reper­toire con­sists of tra­di­tional and con­tem­po­rary Ir­ish Folk mu­sic which they play on a va­ri­ety of in­stru­ments, in­clud­ing guitar, 5-string banjo, fid­dle, man­dolin and tin whis­tle.

They have per­formed in­ter­na­tion­ally from PEI to Ire­land, Toronto, New­found­land, Florida, and pretty well all points in be­tween. Their ver­sa­til­ity makes for a won­der­ful evening of tra­di­tional mu­sic sure to be en­joyed by ev­ery­one. Join­ing them on this oc­ca­sion is son, Paddy Far­rell, who sings and plays guitar.
