Guinness to perform at ceilidh tonight

The Ceilidh at the Irish Hall on Friday, July 3 features Jim and Laura Farrell, the husband and wife team musically known as Guinness.

The ceilidh takes place at the air-conditione­d Irish Cultural Centre located at 582 North River Road, Charlottet­own. Start time is 8 p.m. For more informatio­n call 566-3273.

The couple has been entertaini­ng audiences in North America and Ireland since the 1980s. Their repertoire consists of traditiona­l and contempora­ry Irish Folk music which they play on a variety of instrument­s, including guitar, 5-string banjo, fiddle, mandolin and tin whistle.

They have performed internatio­nally from PEI to Ireland, Toronto, Newfoundla­nd, Florida, and pretty well all points in between. Their versatilit­y makes for a wonderful evening of traditiona­l music sure to be enjoyed by everyone. Joining them on this occasion is son, Paddy Farrell, who sings and plays guitar.
