Two dead, two injured from lightning strikes in Wales

-

LONDON —Hospital officials say two people have died from separate lightning strikes in Wales’ Brecon Beacons national park. The Prince Charles Hospital in Merthr Tydfil, about 40 kilometres north of Cardiff, confirmed that two others remain in the hospital following Sunday’s lightning storm on the Pen Y Fan mountain range in Wales. One of the injured was being treated for burns. In an earlier statement, the Welsh Ambulance Service said three people who were walking together had been hospitalized after being hit by lightning. The walkers included a man in his 50s, and no details were available for the others. The hospital said one of those three later died, while the second person who died was injured separately.
