The funeral for Eileen A. Hunter (nee Curley), of Charlottet­own, was held on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 from Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottet­own Funeral Home to the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer where the funeral mass was celebrated by Reverend Jose Thaipparam­pil, who also delivered the homily. The first lesson was proclaimed by granddaugh­ter, Eryn O’NeilSaygan, and the second lesson was proclaimed by daughter, Patty Hunter. The prayers of intercessi­on were offered by daughter, Marlene O’Neil. The funeral mass was sung by Holy Redeemer funeral choir under the direction of Tom Wilkinson. The organist was Gary Cudmore. They rendered the following hymns: Entrance, Here I Am Lord; the psalm, The Lord Is My Shepherd; communion, O Lord I Am Not Worthy; and recessiona­l, How Great Thou Art. The offertory hymn, Hallelujah, and the meditation hymn, Till We Meet Again, were rendered by Gerry Hickey, Blaine Murphy, Pat King and Ian Hunter. The pallbearer­s were son, Ian Hunter, grandson, Mike Hunter, great-grandson, Reece Hunter, sons-in-law, Harry O’Neil and Bob King, and nephew, Peter Buchanan. Honorary pallbearer­s were members of RCAF Women’s Auxiliary. Among those attending the funeral liturgy were representa­tives of Holy Redeemer Catholic Women’s League, Bank of Montreal, Line Dancers, B.G.’ers, and Pat & The Elephant. The funeral cortage was piped in and out of the church by piper, Terry Hunter (son), who also piped Amazing Grace at the cemetery. The interment took place in the Roman Catholic Cemetery where Father Jose held the graveside service.
