The fu­neral for Eileen A. Hunter (nee Cur­ley), of Char­lot­te­town, was held on Wed­nes­day, June 10, 2015 from Hen­nessey Cut­cliffe Char­lot­te­town Fu­neral Home to the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer where the fu­neral mass was cel­e­brated by Rev­erend Jose Thaip­pa­rampil, who also de­liv­ered the homily. The first les­son was pro­claimed by grand­daugh­ter, Eryn O’NeilSay­gan, and the sec­ond les­son was pro­claimed by daugh­ter, Patty Hunter. The prayers of in­ter­ces­sion were of­fered by daugh­ter, Mar­lene O’Neil. The fu­neral mass was sung by Holy Redeemer fu­neral choir un­der the di­rec­tion of Tom Wilkin­son. The or­gan­ist was Gary Cud­more. They ren­dered the fol­low­ing hymns: En­trance, Here I Am Lord; the psalm, The Lord Is My Shep­herd; com­mu­nion, O Lord I Am Not Wor­thy; and re­ces­sional, How Great Thou Art. The of­fer­tory hymn, Hal­lelu­jah, and the med­i­ta­tion hymn, Till We Meet Again, were ren­dered by Gerry Hickey, Blaine Mur­phy, Pat King and Ian Hunter. The pall­bear­ers were son, Ian Hunter, grand­son, Mike Hunter, great-grand­son, Reece Hunter, sons-in-law, Harry O’Neil and Bob King, and nephew, Peter Buchanan. Honorary pall­bear­ers were mem­bers of RCAF Women’s Aux­il­iary. Among those at­tend­ing the fu­neral liturgy were rep­re­sen­ta­tives of Holy Redeemer Catholic Women’s League, Bank of Mon­treal, Line Dancers, B.G.’ers, and Pat & The Ele­phant. The fu­neral cortage was piped in and out of the church by piper, Terry Hunter (son), who also piped Amaz­ing Grace at the ceme­tery. The in­ter­ment took place in the Ro­man Catholic Ceme­tery where Fa­ther Jose held the grave­side ser­vice.
