The funeral for Mark Greenan, of Charlottet­own, was held on Monday, June 22, 2015 from Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottet­own Funeral Home to St. Pius X Church, Charlottet­own. The concelebra­ted funeral mass was offered by Reverend Eric Dunn as chief celebrant and homilist. He was assisted by Reverend Maurice Praught. The first lesson was proclaimed by aunt, Margot Lamphier-McGuire, and the second lesson was proclaimed by cousin, Kacey Lamphier. The prayers of intercessi­on were offered by Mae Taylor. The funeral mass was sung by St. Pius X funeral choir under the direction of Eileen Flanagan. The organist was Karen Power. During the funeral, the choir sang the entrance hymn, Here I Am Lord, the psalm, To You O Lord I Lift My Soul, the communion hymn, Something Which Is Known, and the recessiona­l hymn, Lord Of All Hopefulnes­s. The offertory hymn, Be Not Afraid, and the meditation hymn, For Those Tears I Died, were rendered by soloist, Roger Doiron. The pallbearer­s were close friends, Morgan MacQuarrie, Greg Holmes, Joey Smith, Colin McAulay, Kenny MacKinnon, David Greenan, James Lamphier and Dana Johnston. Among those attending the funeral liturgy were representa­tives of Island View Housing Co-op. The interment took place in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, where Father Dunn held the graveside service.
