‘The Island Summer Review 3’ returns to Hunter River
Harmony House Theatre has announced that an all-new the “Island Summer Review 3” is ready to hit the stage.
Opening tonight, this show hopes to have audiences making the rafters ring, with a footstomping and laugh-filled season.
Comedian Patrick Ledwell and musician Mark Haines have been working hard to raise the bar with “The Island Summer Review 3”.
“People have been asking us if we’d be back,” says show co-creator Ledwell. “So we took that message as good encouragement to return. We want to reward first-time and return audience members with a brand new show, that finds the same good energy and dials it up a notch.”
“The Island Summer Review 3” shares Island stories through high-tempo comedy and music.
“It’s Jon Stewart’s Daily Show meets Don Messer’s Jubilee,” says Ledwell. “The show does a modern comic take on the traditional Island kitchen party.”
Sneak previews of new material include a folk-disco mashup of ‘Stayin’ Alive’ and Island driving techniques. Expect to hear a piece recalling the two lines people know from every Maritime pub song and a fast-moving original mapping the bones of Island connections.
Harmony House co-owner Melanie Taylor is looking forward to the third edition of the production.
