Rays get right-hander Odorizzi back from DL

-

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Rays will bring right-hander Jake Odorizzi off the disabled list and start him Saturday against Houston, with Matt Moore pitching Sunday in their final game before the All-Star break. Rays manager Kevin Cash made the announcement before Wednesday’s game in Kansas City. Odorizzi has missed 30 games while dealing with a strained left oblique that landed him on the DL on June 9. Along with All-Star Chris Archer, Odorizzi had been one of the bright spots in Tampa Bay’s rotation, going 4-5 with a 2.47 ERA in his first 12 starts. Moore will be making his third start following Tommy John surgery. The former AllStar has allowed eight runs over nine innings in his first two outings.
