The funeral for Forrest Lea was held on Monday, July 6, 2015 from Belvedere Funeral Home Chapel where the service was conducted by Reverend Dr. Douglas Rollwage and Reverend Dr. Gordon Matheson. The organist was Helen MacRae. The eulogy was shared by Jason MacLean, who also read The Lighthouse. During the service, Reverend Rollwage sang Because He Lives and The Old Rugged Cross. Go Rest High On That Mountain by Vince Gill was played as the recessional. Honorary pallbearers were everyone present at the service. Pallbearers were Fred Andrews, Adrian Green, Wendell Grasse, John David MacLean, Leslie MacEachern and Lawson Lea. Flowerbearers were Jeffrey MacLean, Justin MacLean, Daryl Ellis, Derek Ellis, Gregory Ellis, Jason Ellis and Daniel Andrews. Interment took place in Vernon River Memorial Cemetery.
