The fu­neral for Ber­nice McQuil­lan (nee Cud­more) of Elm­wood was held on Fri­day, July 3, 2015 from Hen­nessey Cut­cliffe Char­lot­te­town Fu­neral Home to St. Anne’s Church, Emy­vale, where the fu­neral mass was cel­e­brated by Rev­erend Robert Coady, who also de­liv­ered the homily. Rev­erend Robert Mac­Don­ald was also present in the sanc­tu­ary. The first les­son was pro­claimed by sis­ter-in-law, Ann Cud­more, and the sec­ond les­son was pro­claimed by nephew, Lloyd Cud­more. The prayers of in­ter­ces­sion were of­fered by niece, Anna MacKin­ley. The fu­neral mass was sung by St. Anne’s Parish choir un­der the di­rec­tion of Suzanne Lane. The or­gan­ist was niece, Ber­nadette Roche. Dur­ing the fu­neral, the choir sang the en­trance hymn, Here I Am Lord; the psalm, The Lord Is My Shep­herd; the of­fer­tory hymn, Be Not Afraid; the com­mu­nion hymn, Hail Mary, Gen­tle Woman; and the re­ces­sional hymn, Amaz­ing Grace. The pall­bear­ers were brother-in­law, Lyle Bruce, and neph­ews, Eu­gene Egan, Aaron Gallant, Jamie Cud­more, Ralph McQuil­lan and Ro­bie McCar­dle. Honorary pall­bear­ers were ev­ery­one in at­ten­dance. Among those at­tend­ing the fu­neral liturgy were rep­re­sen­ta­tives of St. Anne’s Catholic Women’s League. The in­ter­ment took place in St. Anne’s Parish Ceme­tery, Emy­vale, where Fa­ther Coady held the grave­side ser­vice.
