The funeral for Bernice McQuillan (nee Cudmore) of Elmwood was held on Friday, July 3, 2015 from Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottet­own Funeral Home to St. Anne’s Church, Emyvale, where the funeral mass was celebrated by Reverend Robert Coady, who also delivered the homily. Reverend Robert MacDonald was also present in the sanctuary. The first lesson was proclaimed by sister-in-law, Ann Cudmore, and the second lesson was proclaimed by nephew, Lloyd Cudmore. The prayers of intercessi­on were offered by niece, Anna MacKinley. The funeral mass was sung by St. Anne’s Parish choir under the direction of Suzanne Lane. The organist was niece, Bernadette Roche. During the funeral, the choir sang the entrance hymn, Here I Am Lord; the psalm, The Lord Is My Shepherd; the offertory hymn, Be Not Afraid; the communion hymn, Hail Mary, Gentle Woman; and the recessiona­l hymn, Amazing Grace. The pallbearer­s were brother-inlaw, Lyle Bruce, and nephews, Eugene Egan, Aaron Gallant, Jamie Cudmore, Ralph McQuillan and Robie McCardle. Honorary pallbearer­s were everyone in attendance. Among those attending the funeral liturgy were representa­tives of St. Anne’s Catholic Women’s League. The interment took place in St. Anne’s Parish Cemetery, Emyvale, where Father Coady held the graveside service.
