Bee­keep­ing work­shops are July 9-10, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Farm Cen­tre, Char­lot­te­town. The P.E.I. Depart­ment of Agri­cul­ture and Fish­eries and the P.E.I. Bee­keep­ers' As­so­ci­a­tion have part­nered to of­fer two sep­a­rate work­shops to P.E.I. bee­keep­ers: ba­sic bee­keep­ing in­for­ma­tion to new (be­gin­ning) bee­keep­ers on July 9 and a more ad­vanced In­te­grated pest man­age­ment work­shop is July 10 for bee­keep­ers who have some ex­pe­ri­ence keep­ing honey bees. Any­one wish­ing to take the work­shop on July 10 (IPM) must have at least one year's ex­pe­ri­ence keep­ing honey bees or will have taken the be­gin­ner bee­keeper work­shop on July 9. If the in­ter­est ex­ceeds avail­able seats, a wait­ing list will be cre­ated. The P.E.I. Bee­keep­ers' As­so­ci­a­tion will be pro­vid­ing a bar­be­cue for lunch dur­ing the work­shops.
