9 p.m. on (ABC-B)

Some new astronauts’ wives enter the picture as the Mercury missions give way to the start of the Gemini project in the new episode “Liftoff.” Among them: Susan Borman and Jane Conrad (respectively played by guest stars Antonia Bernath and Haley Strode). The situation signals changes for some of the couples, particularly Trudy and Gordon Cooper (Odette Annable, Bret Harrison), and Marge and Deke Slayton (Erin Cummings, Kenneth Mitchell).

9 p.m. on (FOX-R) No engaged couple should count on being able to use the potential explosive in the new episode “It’s the Wedding Cake Bomb!” for their nuptials. The confection and its contents are primed to slime anyone nearby, as contestants have to answer questions correctly or risk detonating the cake. Host Tom Papa stands by as the participants try to avoid leaving the game covered in icing ... and, in this case, perhaps a bride or nament as well.
