A service of celebratio­n for the life of Greg Carrière, husband of Denise Carrière, of Hazel Grove, was held on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at Central Queens United Church, Hunter River. The service was conducted by Reverend Barbara Wagner, who offered prayer and gave words of encouragem­ent in her meditation, God Always Provides. The scriptures were Ecclesiast­es 3:1-8, read by sister, Brenda Bridges, and Psalm 90, which was read by Rev. Wagner. Don Avery, representi­ng Paderno, shared words of remembranc­e. Brenda Bridges read a poem and thoughts from her brother. The organist, Anne Burke, and the Central Queens United Church Choir led the congregati­onal hymns, All Things Bright and Beautiful, Over My Head I Hear Music in the Air and Make Me A Channel of Your Peace. Brenda Bridges and friend, Sylvia Wolters, rendered the duet, My Only Hope. Other musical selections included audio recordings of Peter Gabriel; Truly, Madly, Deeply by Savage Garden; and Like a Rock, by Bob Seger. Bearers of honour were nephews, Kristian Wolters, Kye Wolters, Koben Wolters and Russell Corr. Flowerbear­ers were nieces, Crystal Bestilny, Jessica Corr, Sarah Robinson and Shauna Robinson. Among those in attendance were employees of Paderno and Tim Hortons. Funeral arrangemen­ts were entrusted to Central Queen’s Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
