A ser­vice of cel­e­bra­tion for the life of Greg Car­rière, hus­band of Denise Car­rière, of Hazel Grove, was held on Wed­nes­day, July 8, 2015, at Cen­tral Queens United Church, Hunter River. The ser­vice was con­ducted by Rev­erend Bar­bara Wag­ner, who of­fered prayer and gave words of en­cour­age­ment in her med­i­ta­tion, God Al­ways Pro­vides. The scrip­tures were Ec­cle­si­astes 3:1-8, read by sis­ter, Brenda Bridges, and Psalm 90, which was read by Rev. Wag­ner. Don Avery, rep­re­sent­ing Paderno, shared words of re­mem­brance. Brenda Bridges read a poem and thoughts from her brother. The or­gan­ist, Anne Burke, and the Cen­tral Queens United Church Choir led the con­gre­ga­tional hymns, All Things Bright and Beau­ti­ful, Over My Head I Hear Mu­sic in the Air and Make Me A Chan­nel of Your Peace. Brenda Bridges and friend, Sylvia Wolters, ren­dered the duet, My Only Hope. Other mu­si­cal se­lec­tions in­cluded au­dio record­ings of Peter Gabriel; Truly, Madly, Deeply by Sav­age Gar­den; and Like a Rock, by Bob Seger. Bear­ers of hon­our were neph­ews, Kris­tian Wolters, Kye Wolters, Koben Wolters and Rus­sell Corr. Flower­bear­ers were nieces, Crys­tal Bestilny, Jes­sica Corr, Sarah Robin­son and Shauna Robin­son. Among those in at­ten­dance were em­ploy­ees of Paderno and Tim Hor­tons. Fu­neral ar­range­ments were en­trusted to Cen­tral Queen’s Fu­neral Home, New Glas­gow.
