Islanders seek billet families

The Charlottetown Islanders hockey club is seeking billet families for players for the 2015-16 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League season.

A billet family provides a supportive family home environment and nutritional meals and has knowledge of local communities and activities.

Players and/or the team are responsible for transportation to and from practices, games and player appearances. During training camp the demand for homes increases as extra players are trying out for the team, but these numbers decrease as camp progresses to the eventual need of about 21 families for the season. Islanders training camp opens Monday, Aug. 10, in Pownal.
