Fundraiser A pancake breakfast is Saturday July 11, 7:30-10 a.m., at St. Stephen’s Church Hall #1612 Route 101 in Irishtown, with sausages, pancakes muffins, biscuits, cinnamon rolls, cheese, tea/coffee. There will also be a sale of home baked goodies. Admission is adults, $7; children (six to 12), $3. Tracadie Lions Summer Sunday Brunch is every Sunday until Aug. 30, 10-11:30 a.m., with pancakes, sausage, beans, toast, fruit, cheese, jams, tea, coffee, juice and fresh baked goods. Cost: $6 per adult, $4 per child (preschoolers free), cash and debit at the door. All proceeds go towards ongoing community support projects. It will be held at the Tracadie Community Centre, Station Road Tracadie Cross. Special services Spring Brook Soldiers Monuments will be holding their 95th annual memorial service on Sunday, July 12, 2:30 p.m. The service will be held this year without an outdoor sound system; all are invited to join inside the Geddie Memorial Presbyterian Church for the service. Rev. Margie Fagan, rector of the Anglican Parish of New London will officiate. All all welcome.
The annual Brudenell Pioneers Memorial Service, set for Sunday, July 12, 3 p.m., on Brudenell Island (n case of rain, the service and get together will be at 3 p.m. at the old Brudenell School on the road to Brudenell Point). The guest speaker will be Tiber Falzett, research associate with the Institute of Island Studies, UPEI. As part of the service, a memorial wreath will also be laid. A picnic will follow on the Brudenell Provincial Park grounds, adjacent to the island. Everyone is welcome to both the service and the picnic. Organizers are also advising those taking part to bring lawn chairs. Presentation Make your life happier and learn about Buddhism in P.E.I.
