Joe Hynes, Keelin Wedge set to join show hosts

-

Following two successful soldout shows for the June 28 launch of the 2015 Sunday Night Hoedown Concert Series, hosts Peggy Clinton and Johnny Ross welcome two musicians as guests for their next concert on July 12, 7:30 p.m., at Souris Live’s Centre Stage, 14 Hebrew Ave., Souris.

Joe Hynes, originally from Codroy Valley, N.L., lived and worked in Cape Breton for many years and now lives in Montague with his wife Marie (who is an Islander). He has performed throughout Atlantic Canada and played with many musicians over the years, including Dick Nolan, Eddie Coffey and Bruce Guthro. His musical repertoire and influences are diverse, spanning country music (especially Merle Haggard), 1950s/’60s rock ‘n’ roll, and traditional Newfoundland music.

Keelin Wedge, originally from St. Louis P.E.I., now lives in Summerside. A multi-instrumentalist, she plays the fiddle, guitar, mandolin, drums and bass along with sings and step dances. She performs mostly traditional music, country and some rock but she is open to all kinds of styles.

“Combine the talents of these two guests with the high energy and incredible talent of Peggy Clinton and Johnny Ross and you have the recipe for an amazing show,” says a release.

Tickets ($12) are available at www.sourisliveinc.com; Evergreen Café, 95 Main St., Souris or call 902-687-1521.
