The 2015 ESPYs 9 p.m. on (ABC-B) The presence of Joel McHale (“Community,” “Talk Soup”) as host guarantees there will be wisecracks among the accolades, as the annual sports awards move from ESPN to sister network ABC for the first time. Broadcast from Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater, the event encompasses the presentations of the Arthur Ashe Courage Award to Caitlyn Jenner, and the Pat Tillman Award for Service to former Notre Dame basketball player and military veteran Danielle Green.

Arrow 9 p.m. on (ASN) “The Brave and the Bold” wraps up a story that began on “The Flash.” Oliver (Stephen Amell) and his cohorts locate the foe who deploys a deadly boomerang, but they find there’s more involved. Barry Allen (guest star Grant Gustin) lends help when the villain gets away, and the stakes rise considerably as five bombs are set to explode simultaneously throughout the city. Katie Cassidy, Colton Haynes and David Ramsey also star.

MasterChef 9 p.m. on (CTV) (FOX-R) “Rice Is Nice” was the title of a kitschy song of the late 1960s, and the sentiment also applies to what the cooks must do in the new episode “Rice Rice Baby.” You’ll never guess — well, OK, maybe you will — the major ingredient in a dish they have to whip up in one hour. There will be a big payoff for the winner, with the recipe featured in a major magazine. That person also will be exempt from a subsequent elimination challenge that involves “dynamic duos.”

4. Criminal Minds 10 p.m. on (CBS-B) Trying to determine the identity of a serial killer in Wisconsin proves challenging for the team in “Breath Play.” None of the victims have any apparent link to one another, confounding the pattern-seeking Rossi (Joe Mantegna) and his fellow BAU sleuths. Kate (Jennifer Love Hewitt) is concerned about Meg’s (Hailey Sole) sudden turn in behavior. Rochelle Aytes (“Mistresses”) returns as Morgan’s (Shemar Moore) girlfriend.

Bullseye 10:01 p.m. on (FOX-R) Eight people become the final contestants this summer to vie for the $50,000 grand prize in the show’s season finale, “Zip Timeline.” As that title should indicate, mastering a zip line is one of the major challenges posed during the hour — taking the competitors on a frantically, and centrifugally, paced trip through “Bullseye-ville ” — along with competitions called “Center Spin” and “Truck-to-Truck.” Kellan Lutz and Godfrey are the hosts.
