Sharon Cameron is deputy min­is­ter; Sandy Mac­Don­ald leaves

Sharon Cameron will be­come Prince Ed­ward Is­land’s new deputy min­is­ter of the Depart­ment of Work­force and Ad­vanced Learn­ing on July 20.

The pro­vin­cial gov­ern­ment made the an­nounce­ment Wed­nes­day.

The po­si­tion be­came avail­able when Sandy Mac­Don­ald be­came Hol­land Col­lege’s vi­cepres­i­dent and chief learn­ing of­fi­cer.

Cameron re­cently served as chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer of the Work­ers Com­pen­sa­tion Board. Prior to that she was deputy min­is­ter of So­cial Ser­vices and Se­niors. She has served as prin­ci­pal at Stonepark In­ter­me­di­ate School in Char­lot­te­town.

Luanne Gallant, who cur­rently serves as di­rec­tor of cor­po­rate ser­vices, will serve as the board’s act­ing CEO.
