Sharon Cameron is deputy minister; Sandy MacDonald leaves

Sharon Cameron will become Prince Edward Island’s new deputy minister of the Department of Workforce and Advanced Learning on July 20.

The provincial government made the announceme­nt Wednesday.

The position became available when Sandy MacDonald became Holland College’s vicepresid­ent and chief learning officer.

Cameron recently served as chief executive officer of the Workers Compensati­on Board. Prior to that she was deputy minister of Social Services and Seniors. She has served as principal at Stonepark Intermedia­te School in Charlottet­own.

Luanne Gallant, who currently serves as director of corporate services, will serve as the board’s acting CEO.
