Man gets 90 days for drug charge

Cliffod Joseph Pitre of St. Edward was recently sentenced to 90 days in jail, to be served on weekends.

Pitre pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of marijuana for the purpose of traffickin­g.

In addition to the jail time, the 53-year-old must serve 12 months of probation and pay a $200 victim surcharge.

He was originally charged on Nov. 14, 2014. Officers who arrested Pitre at a Summerside home found a total 13.92 grams of cannabis resin and 320 grams of whole marijuana, including 200 grams of “shake,” which is a marijuana byproduct.
