Man gets 90 days for drug charge

Clif­fod Joseph Pitre of St. Ed­ward was re­cently sen­tenced to 90 days in jail, to be served on week­ends.

Pitre pleaded guilty to two counts of pos­ses­sion of mar­i­juana for the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing.

In ad­di­tion to the jail time, the 53-year-old must serve 12 months of pro­ba­tion and pay a $200 vic­tim sur­charge.

He was orig­i­nally charged on Nov. 14, 2014. Of­fi­cers who ar­rested Pitre at a Summerside home found a to­tal 13.92 grams of cannabis resin and 320 grams of whole mar­i­juana, in­clud­ing 200 grams of “shake,” which is a mar­i­juana byprod­uct.
