Tim Chaisson, Cavendish festival receive award nominations
Souris native Tim Chaisson and the Cavendish Beach Music Festival are up for Canadian County Music Association awards.
Chaisson is up for the roots artist of the year with The Bros. Landreth, The Lovelocks , Lindi Ortega and The Western Swing Authority.
The Cavendish Beach Music Festival is a nominee in the festival, fair or exhibition of the year. It is up against events in Camrose and Calgary, Alta.; and Dauphin, Man.
The nominees were released on Wednesday.
The 41 awards will be given out during four awards ceremonies during Country Music Week in Halifax from Sept. 10 to 13.
At the show, P.E.I.’s Meaghan Blanchard will perform as one of six finalists for the Canadian Country Music Association’s discovery program.
