Tim Chais­son, Cavendish fes­ti­val re­ceive award nom­i­na­tions

Souris na­tive Tim Chais­son and the Cavendish Beach Mu­sic Fes­ti­val are up for Cana­dian County Mu­sic As­so­ci­a­tion awards.

Chais­son is up for the roots artist of the year with The Bros. Lan­dreth, The Love­locks , Lindi Ortega and The Western Swing Au­thor­ity.

The Cavendish Beach Mu­sic Fes­ti­val is a nom­i­nee in the fes­ti­val, fair or ex­hi­bi­tion of the year. It is up against events in Cam­rose and Cal­gary, Alta.; and Dauphin, Man.

The nom­i­nees were re­leased on Wed­nes­day.

The 41 awards will be given out dur­ing four awards cer­e­monies dur­ing Coun­try Mu­sic Week in Hal­i­fax from Sept. 10 to 13.

At the show, P.E.I.’s Meaghan Blan­chard will per­form as one of six fi­nal­ists for the Cana­dian Coun­try Mu­sic As­so­ci­a­tion’s dis­cov­ery pro­gram.
