Sur­rounded by his fam­ily, James Her­man “Jim” Mayne, 64, passed away at the Queen El­iz­a­beth Hos­pi­tal on July 16, 2015. Lov­ing fa­ther of Lori Mayne and J.W. Mayne. Cher­ished brother of Leah Mayne Cainey, Joan (David) Kennedy, Kay ( John) McIver and David (May) Mayne. Nephew of Jim (Caryl) Cum­mings and Eve­lyn Mayne. Beloved un­cle of many nieces and neph­ews. Pre­de­ceased by his par­ents, Her­man and Mar­garet “Peggy” Mayne of Emer­ald, brother Ge­orge Mayne, sis­ter Jeane Coburn, and broth­ers-in-law David Coburn and Mike Cainey. Jim was the for­mer leader of the P.E.I. NDP and for­mer pres­i­dent of the Na­tional Farm­ers Union. Rest­ing at Hills­boro Fu­neral Home, Stratford, on Satur­day, July 18, with vis­it­ing hours 4-7 p.m. Fu­neral Sun­day, July 19, at 2 p.m. at the fu­neral home chapel.
