Passed away on July 14, 2015, in his 83rd year, with his de­voted wife, Ruth, of 59 years and ador­ing son, Stephen, by his side. Pre­de­ceased by his lov­ing par­ents, El­iz­a­beth and James; sib­lings, John, Ann and Gerry; and many cher­ished inlaws. Lov­ing brother to Von­nie, Ardelle, Kathy ( John Tay­lor), Rose and Ger­ard, Frank and Donna, Chuck and Gayle and brother-in-law to Dolores, Gord and Verna, Jim and Shirley, Larry and Sue, Dot, Pa­tri­cia Buchan, and Stella Gil­lis. He will be sadly missed by many nieces, neph­ews and friends. Joe was born in St. Peter's, P.E.I., and loved to rem­i­nisce about his beloved home­town. He moved to On­tario in 1952 and made a home in Hamil­ton with his lov­ing fam­ily, but al­ways kept a place in his heart for his home province. Joe was a re­tired engi­neer who de­voted 40 years of his life as an em­ployee at Stelco Steel. Thanks to Dr. Grieci as well as the CTU staff at St. Joseph's Hos­pi­tal, es­pe­cially Cindy. A spe­cial thanks to Dr. Kraftchek (and staff ) for his many years of ex­cep­tional care and friend­ship. A Fu­neral Mass will be cel­e­brated at St. Mar­garet Mary Catholic Church (20 Idle­wood Ave.) on Satur­day, July 18, 2015 at 10 a.m. Inurn­ment to fol­low at Res­ur­rec­tion Ceme­tery, An­caster.
