Sinners In Heaven in line to Terry Gallant used a three-wide back-stretch burst to romp in the Thursday night feature at Red Shores at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

A front-end battle heading to the quarter between Leading Camdidate and Minor Wisdom set up the big fractions (27.3, 56.4, 1:27.1) Sinners In Heaven needed to capture a five-and-ahalf length victory in a lifetime best 1:56.2.

The five-year-old son of Articulator is owned by River Valley Management, Lana Murphy and Windemere Farms while Earl Watts handles the training duties. The win gave Gallant his second victory on the card. He scored in the evening opener with Mr Macleod.

While the big boys were in Bible Hill, N.S., for stakes action, Ronnie Matheson stole the show in Charlottetown, returning three winners back to the winner’s circle. He kicked off his hat trick with Water hook for owner Bruce Wood, before picking up back-to-back victories from Post 8 with a pair of Jackie Matheson-trainees, Star castic in 1:57.2 and Hornswoggle in 1:59.

Gary Chappell also enjoyed two trips back to the winner’s enclosure, first with Lyndale Jenn, and then with the freelegged Shock The Rock.

Racing returns to Charlottetown on Saturday with a 6 p.m. start.
