Organizers pleased with youth triathlon turnout

-

About 40 children between the ages of five and 14 participated in the first annual Kids of Steel (KOS) Tri Lobster Triathlon Sunday in Summerside. Due to high winds and rough water the swim portion was cancelled and an additional run was added, so participants ran, biked and ran a second course. “We had a great turnout for the Tri Lobster KOS race,” said race director Kris Taylor. “Seems like kids are adopting it as a new summer sport. After all it is three activities they really enjoy and can do together as a family, with friends and by themselves.” The third KOS triathlon of the season is being held in Brudenell on Sunday, Aug. 23, along with the Three Rivers Triathlon.
