Len­nie Gallant comes home to Rus­tico for show on Sun­day night

Rus­tico’s own Len­nie Gallant will take the stage Sun­day, July 26, 8 p.m., for the 21st an­nual Ren­dez-vous Rus­tico con­cert.

The con­cert will take place in the spe­cial set­ting at St.-Augustine’s Church in Rus­tico with doors open­ing at 7:30 p.m. Gallant will be joined on stage for the con­cert by fam­ily and friends. A renowned Cana­dian singer­song­writer, Gallant has recorded 10 al­bums (eight in English and two in French), which have won him a host of awards and nom­i­na­tions from the Junos, the East Coast Mu­sic Awards and Les Prix Eloizes. He was also re­cently hon­ored with a 2015 Cana­dian Folk Mu­sic Award for artist of the year for his latest record­ing, “Live Acous­tic at The Car­leton”.

An in­ter­na­tional tour­ing artist who has rep­re­sented Canada on song­writer events in Nashville, Lon­don and Texas, en­ter­tained Cana­dian troops in Kan­da­har, per­formed at Canada Day events in Washington and Lon­don and on the world stage at the XXI Win­ter Olympics, Gallant has had his songs recorded by many artists and they have been fea­tured in films, stage pro­duc­tions, and on tele­vi­sion.

He also has a book ti­tled “Peter’s Dream” — a col­lab­o­ra­tion with vis­ual artist and sib­ling, Karen Gallant.

This sum­mer, he is fol­low­ing up on the suc­cess of his 2014 sum­mer-long run at the Con­fed­er­a­tion Cen­tre of the Arts’ Mack Theatre with his show “Search­ing For Abeg­weit - The Is­land Songs & Sto­ries of Len­nie Gallant”. The run­away hit that had 57 sold out shows is now play­ing at the P.E.I. Brew­ing Com­pany in Char­lot­te­town.
