Richard Wood joins fellow fiddler for in Emerald show
Award-winning P.E.I. fiddler Richard Wood will be joining Courtney Hogan-Chandler, Gordon Belsher and step dancer Janelle Banks for the ceilidh today at 7:30 p.m. at the Emerald Community Centre.
Highlights of Wood’s career include TV guest appearances with Shania Twain on “The Late Show with David Letterman” and “Good Morning America,” Carnegie Hall with Irish legends The Chieftains, a featured performer on CBC’s Canada Day on Parliament Hill, “Rita MacNeil and Friends,” and with Jean Butler of Riverdance on “Celtic Electric.”
Belsher has been entertaining audiences in Canada and around the world for more than a quarter of a century performing solo at concerts, ceilidhs, conventions and pubs.
As an accompanist and featured vocalist with fiddler Richard Wood, he has toured extensively across Canada, the U.S., the U.K., Europe, Japan and Australia.
Hogan-Chandler is busy working as a veterinarian in Moncton through the week and loves when Fridays arrive to be able to play tunes with such great musician and friends.
The music starts at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays at the Emerald Community Centre. The Boxcar pub will be open at 5:30 p.m. for food and drinks. Admission is at the door. Everyone is welcome to attend.
