Blacklight show underway at the Carrefour Theatre

-

Luminosity black light theatre and the Carrefour Theatre are presenting Dr. Seuss’ timely and relevant “Oh, the Places You’ll Go! ... a tale of Life’s Journey” at the Carrefour Theatre in Charlottetown.

This being Luminosity’s fifth anniversary season, it is celebrating the human experience with a story told through dialogue, music, dance and the magic of black light that will delight the whole family.

Luminosity black light theatre is the only black light theatre in the Maritimes with its origin inspired by West Royalty Elementary School’s Grade 4 teachers and students. They planted the seeds to create past productions of “The Great Kapok Tree” (a tale of the Amazon Rainforest) and “The Mermaid and the Droplets” (a tale of Water Wellness) as part of an ArtsSmarts Program.

Artistic director Julia Sauve, is thrilled to bring this classic tale by the world’s iconic author, Dr. Seuss.

In the spirit of giving back, donations from these performances helped support the Rainforest Alliance and Ryan’s Well Foundation.

“Oh, les Lieux ou Vous Irez!... Conte de Voyage de la Vie”is a bilingual production that runs for 12 performances. Show days are Tuesdays and Thursdays, continuing July 28 and 30, as well as Aug. 4 and 6 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

There will also be a talk back with a cast of 12 young performers after the matinee shows. Tickets are cash at the door. To get to the Carrefour Theatre, turn at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and follow the signs. Admission is at the door.
