Frank Whitty to join Clinton, Ross on The Centre Stage

-

Well-known country singer Frank Whitty will join Peggy Clinton and Johnny Ross at the next show in the Sunday Night Hoedown Concert Series at The Centre Stage, 14 Hebrew Ave., Souris on July 26, 7:30 p.m.

Growing up, Whitty was surrounded by music. His father was a fiddle player, and his mother step danced and sang around the home. Whitty, who has always loved country music, has been playing at ceilidhs and benefit concerts in and around the community for many years. He has also produced two CDs, his most recent one called “Real Country”. Now he travels and performs all across the Island.

“Pretty much if the phone rings, I'll go,” he says.

Keelin Wedge will also be on hand for the concert. Wedge made quite the stir with the audience at the last hoedown, which was sold out, and returns this week with her singing, guitar playing and her lively fiddling. She will keep everyone on the edge of their seats wondering what she will be up to next.

In addition, the Saunders Sisters will be joining in on the fun as they step dance their way into everyone's hearts.

Tickets are $12 but get them early to avoid disappointment. Tickets are available online at www.sourisliveinc.com and can be purchased at Evergreen Café and Wellness Centre, 95 Main St., Souris. Call 902-687-1521 to reserve.
