The Guardian (Charlottetown) - - SPORTS -

Boston Bruins defenceman Adam McQuaid was injured in the second period when he was checked headfirst into the glass Tuesday night against the Washington Capitals. The Cornwall native was skating after a loose puck in the Boston zone when he took a hit from Washington’s Zach Sill, of Birch Hill, N.S., about five minutes into the second period. McQuaid was facing the boards when Sill arrived and the hit drove McQuaid’s forehead into the glass. McQuaid stayed down for several minutes before he was helped from the ice and to the locker room. Boston fans booed when there was no penalty on the play.
