The me­mo­rial ser­vice for Louis Kays was held on Thurs­day, De­cem­ber 31, 2015 from Belvedere Fu­neral Home to St. Peter’s Cathe­dral where the ser­vice was presided over by Fr. David Gar­rett. Al­bert Kays shared a read­ing: When Tomorrow Starts With­out Me. 1 Corinthi­ans 15: 20-28 was read by Ge­orge Waye. The Gospel was pro­claimed Fr. Stephen Allen. Words of re­mem­brance were shared by Alvin John­ston. Danny Boy and Be Not Afraid were sung by Kelti MacMil­lan. The church choir, un­der the di­rec­tion of Ruth Ann Read-Clay, led the as­sem­bly in singing Psalm 23 and There is a Green Hill Far Away. The choir sang The Con­takion and In Par­adisum. Niece, Lori Kays, served as the urn bearer. In­ter­ment will take place later. Those at­tend­ing the fu­neral liturgy in­cluded mem­bers of The Char­lot­te­town Club, The Yad­sendew Golf Group, The Tues­day Night Poker Bunch, along with man­age­ment and staff of Home Hard­ware Char­lot­te­town. A re­cep­tion fol­lowed at the Belvedere Golf Club for fam­ily and friends.
