The memorial service for Louis Kays was held on Thursday, December 31, 2015 from Belvedere Funeral Home to St. Peter’s Cathedral where the service was presided over by Fr. David Garrett. Albert Kays shared a reading: When Tomorrow Starts Without Me. 1 Corinthian­s 15: 20-28 was read by George Waye. The Gospel was proclaimed Fr. Stephen Allen. Words of remembranc­e were shared by Alvin Johnston. Danny Boy and Be Not Afraid were sung by Kelti MacMillan. The church choir, under the direction of Ruth Ann Read-Clay, led the assembly in singing Psalm 23 and There is a Green Hill Far Away. The choir sang The Contakion and In Paradisum. Niece, Lori Kays, served as the urn bearer. Interment will take place later. Those attending the funeral liturgy included members of The Charlottet­own Club, The Yadsendew Golf Group, The Tuesday Night Poker Bunch, along with management and staff of Home Hardware Charlottet­own. A reception followed at the Belvedere Golf Club for family and friends.
