Refugees may come

Kens­ing­ton meet­ing will dis­cuss refugees

A meet­ing to dis­cuss spon­sor­ing a Syr­ian refugee fam­ily in the Kens­ing­ton area will be held Jan. 18.

This is an ex­ploratory meet­ing to gauge the level of in­ter­est for the idea and to cre­ate a com­mit­tee to move the plan ahead.

The meet­ing is be­ing or­ga­nized by Sally Blake Hooff of Kens­ing­ton and Pa­tri­cia Ben­nett of New Lon­don.

Any­one with an in­ter­est in mak­ing a dif­fer­ence for a Syr­ian fam­ily is en­cour­aged to at­tend.

The meet­ing will be held at the Lion’s Club in Kens­ing­ton be­gin­ning at 7:30 p.m. Light re­fresh­ments will be served. In the case of bad weather, the meet­ing will take place at the same time and lo­ca­tion one week later on Jan. 25.
