Spot­light Theatre Com­pany at The Guild

Spot­light Theatre Com­pany, School of Per­form­ing Arts, has an­nounced it will be hold­ing its Char­lot­te­town act­ing and mu­si­cal theatre classes for chil­dren and teens at The Guild in Char­lot­te­town for the next 12 weeks.

With sup­port from The Guild, Spot­light is able to host the pro­grams at this lo­ca­tion, which pro­vides space to en­cour­age cre­ative ex­pres­sion and gives stu­dents the op­por­tu­nity to learn in a pro­fes­sional theatre en­vi­ron­ment.

The Guild is com­mit­ted to pro­vid­ing mem­bers of the arts and cul­ture com­mu­nity a cre­ative space to flour­ish, and Char­lot­te­town Spot­light stu­dents are ex­cited to have this sup­port.

Spot­light Theatre Com­pany, a per­form­ing arts school in Sum­mer­side and Char­lot­te­town, of­fers theatre arts pro­grams in act­ing, mu­si­cal theatre, dance and im­prov, as well as a class in vis­ual arts. Its pro­grams of­fer hands-on learn­ing ex­pe­ri­ences for all ages. Stu­dents have op­por­tu­ni­ties to show­case their skills through var­i­ous per­for­mances and two large show­cases each year.

Spot­light be­lieves that per­form­ing arts education is im­por­tant in all stages of life, not only to de­velop per­for­mance skills but to as­sist in the de­vel­op­ment of life skills, in­clud­ing con­fi­dence build­ing, cre­ative ex­pres­sion, com­mit­ment, lead­er­ship, pub­lic speak­ing and team­work. It’s also an ex­cit­ing op­por­tu­nity to meet new friends and have fun.
