The funeral for Francis (Frankie) Campbell, of Maple Plains, was held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 from Kinkora Place, Kinkora, to St. Malachy's Church, Kinkora, where funeral mass was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. by Rev. Joseph Palliyodil, who proclaimed the Gospel and delivered the homily. The pall was placed on the casket by brothers and sisters: Ernest Leo Campbell, Charles Campbell, Anna Marie Sullivan and Helena Arsenault. Cross bearer was Colette Stordy. Mass servers were Karen McKenna and Frank McCardle. The first scripture reading was proclaimed by Shelley Arsenault and the second scripture reading was proclaimed by Neville Lawless. Prayers of the Faithful were led by Donna MacLeod. St. Malachy's Parish choir, assisted by choir members from St. Peter's Parish, Seven Mile Bay and St. Joseph's Parish, Kelly's Cross, sang the entrance hymn, Peace Is Flowing Like a River; offertory hymn, Amazing Grace; communion hymn, Come to the Waters; and recessiona­l hymns, The Old Rugged Cross and Sing to The Mountain. Organist was Carrie Ann Rogers. Communion lay distributo­rs were Leonard Keefe and Andrew Lawless. Ushers were David and Michael Duffy. Honorary pallbearer­s were his family members and many friends as well as all who were in attendance at the service. Pallbearer­s were Brian Arsenault, Brian Cameron, Brian Duffy, Arthur MacDonald, Delmar MacKinnon and Darren Peters. Flowerbear­ers were Carleigh and Mandy MacLeod. Attending the funeral were members of the Maple Leaf Seniors. Interment was in the parish cemetery with Fr. Joseph officiatin­g. Arrangemen­ts were entrusted to Lawless Funeral Home, Kinkora.
