Midwinter of the Spirit 9 p.m. on (CBC) Convinced that Canon Dobbs didn’t really commit suicide, Merrily (Anna Maxwell Martin) links that death in the woods — and a dead crow — to a possible Satanic ritual. She subsequent­ly discovers that the late clergyman had been visited by a bearded stranger and was obsessed with the life of Thomas Cantilupe, a medieval bishop. Ben Bailey Smith, Sally Messham and Leila Mimmack also star in this, the second of three parts. Mike & Molly 9:30 p.m. on (CBS-B) Molly (Melissa McCarthy) has more concerns about Mike’s (Billy Gardell) health than he apparently has himself, so she considers a tracking device a good move for him in the new episode “One Small Step for Mike.” She hopes it will inspire him to introduce more physical activity into his regular routine, though the adjustment for him may not be quite that simple. Reno Wilson, Katy Mixon, Rondi Reed and Swoosie Kurtz also star. Second Chance 10:01 p.m. on (FOX-R) A Seattle lawman — played first by Philip Baker Hall, then by “True Blood” alum Rob Kazinsky — gets a literal second chance at life in “A Suitable Donor,” the premiere of this new drama. Killed while trying to stop a crime, he’s brought back to life by wealthy twins (Adhir Kalyan, Dilshad Vadsaria) who want to use his re-energized blood to keep one of them alive.
