The fu­neral for Mar­lene M. De­war was held on Tues­day, Jan­uary 12, 2016, from Fer­gu­son Lo­gan Mon­tague Fu­neral Home to St. Paul’s Ro­man Catholic Church, Stur­geon, where the fu­neral mass was cel­e­brated by Fr. Ger­ard Chais­son. Or­gan­ist was Justin Si­mard. The pall was placed by Ellen Howlett. Eucharis­tic min­is­ters were Nancy Mathe­son and Sr. El­iz­a­beth Dunn. Mu­sic for the mass was: En­trance hymn, Here I Am Lord; psalm, The Lord is My Shep­herd; of­fer­tory, On Ea­gles Wings; com­mu­nion, Be Not Afraid; post com­mu­nion, Hal­lelu­jah; in­cens­ing, Songs of the An­gels; and re­ces­sional, Amaz­ing Grace. Read­ings were pro­claimed by Stephen De­war and Kristin Da­ley. Prayers of the Faith­ful were of­fered by Jen­nifer Sirois Cur­tis. The al­tar servers were Bernard Far­rell, Larry Lan­dri­gan, Ger­ard Lan­dri­gan and Frank Senechal. The pall­bear­ers were Christo­pher De­war, Ni­cholas De­war, An­drew De­war, Ti­mothy De­war, Kyle Howlett and Michael Brothers. Flower­bear­ers were Jen­nifer Sirois, Lor­raine Lan­ni­gan, Betty MacDon­ald, Clau­dia King, Anne Hawkins and Betty MacDon­ald. Among those at­tend­ing the fu­neral ser­vice in a body were teach­ers and re­tired teach­ers from Mon­tague Con­sol­i­dated School and mem­bers of the Prince Ed­ward Is­land Elec­tri­cal In­spec­tion Dept. The com­mit­tal ser­vice took place in the Lower Mon­tague Ceme­tery. Ni­cholas De­war read a poem fol­low­ing the prayer ser­vice.
