The fu­neral for Miriam Is­abelle Sim­mons was held Sun­day, De­cem­ber 20, 2015 from Ma­cLean Fu­neral Home Swan Chapel to West River United Church where the ser­vice was con­ducted by the Rev­erend Austin Ja­goe and the Rev­erend Bill MacLeod. Grand­daugh­ter, Lau­rel Drake, and nieces, Jill Ni­chol­son, Liane Fer­gu­son Best and Kim Gau­thier, read the Scrip­tures. Son, Lee Drake, gave words of re­mem­brance. Donna MacDougall shared the read­ing, Friend­ship. The choral an­them was The Last Mile. Con­gre­ga­tional hymns were How Great Thou Art and Amaz­ing Grace. Pi­anist was Julie Mills. In at­ten­dance were mem­bers of the Glen Afton Ladies Golfers and staff of New­cap Ra­dio. All in at­ten­dance served as hon­orary pall­bear­ers. Pall­bear­ers were Clive Balder­ston, Lee Drake, Lind­say Drake, Harold Sim­mons, Ken Sim­mons and Win­ston Tay­lor. Flower­bear­ers were Va­lerie Acorn, Jean­nie Balder­ston, Joyce Cousins, Rena Cox, Cur­tis Crozier, Cathy Drake, Jen­nifer Evans, Al­berta Fer­gu­son, Norma Fer­gu­son, Cindy Garn­hum, San­dra Howard, Donna MacDougall, Na­dine Mof­fatt, Mary Rogers, Con­nie Shaw, Carolyn Sim­mons, Vivian Sny­der and Dorothy Tay­lor. In­ter­ment took place in West River United Church Ceme­tery, Corn­wall.
