SIMMONS, Miriam Isabelle

The funeral for Miriam Isabelle Simmons was held Sunday, December 20, 2015 from MacLean Funeral Home Swan Chapel to West River United Church where the service was conducted by the Reverend Austin Jagoe and the Reverend Bill MacLeod. Granddaughter, Laurel Drake, and nieces, Jill Nicholson, Liane Ferguson Best and Kim Gauthier, read the Scriptures. Son, Lee Drake, gave words of remembrance. Donna MacDougall shared the reading, Friendship. The choral anthem was The Last Mile. Congregational hymns were How Great Thou Art and Amazing Grace. Pianist was Julie Mills. In attendance were members of the Glen Afton Ladies Golfers and staff of Newcap Radio. All in attendance served as honorary pallbearers. Pallbearers were Clive Balderston, Lee Drake, Lindsay Drake, Harold Simmons, Ken Simmons and Winston Taylor. Flowerbearers were Valerie Acorn, Jeannie Balderston, Joyce Cousins, Rena Cox, Curtis Crozier, Cathy Drake, Jennifer Evans, Alberta Ferguson, Norma Ferguson, Cindy Garnhum, Sandra Howard, Donna MacDougall, Nadine Moffatt, Mary Rogers, Connie Shaw, Carolyn Simmons, Vivian Snyder and Dorothy Taylor. Interment took place in West River United Church Cemetery, Cornwall.
