P.E.I. Hos­pi­tal Nurs­ing alum­nae mem­bers learn crafts

P.E.I. Hos­pi­tal School of Nurs­ing Alum­nae met re­cently at An­drews of Strat­ford. Thirty one mem­bers en­joyed a demon­stra­tion of sev­eral Christ­mas crafts and dec­o­ra­tions made by El­iz­a­beth Ghiz us­ing dif­fer­ent nat­u­ral and ar­ti­fi­cial medi­ums, colorful cones, rib­bons, berries and branches.

Judy Cot­ton led the busi­ness meet­ing. Eleanor MacMil­lan read min­utes of Oc­to­ber meet­ing. Com­mit­tee re­ports re­vealed busy com­mit­ments by mem­bers. Betsy Hous­ton re­ported on the Christ­mas lun­cheon at the Belvedere Golf Club. Vol­un­teers were re­cruited to do var­i­ous du­ties. Mar­garet Hatcher cir­cu­lated a re­vised word­ing for our me­mo­rial plaque to be placed as a trib­ute to our school and hospi­tals. This cairn will be built on the Brighton Road lo­ca­tion of the last P.E.I. Hos­pi­tal and School of Nurs­ing.

The bake­less bake sale is on­go­ing. Do­na­tions are still wel­come. The alum­nae will meet again on March 15 at 5 pm. Alan Buchanan will present the pro­gram. Be­lated good wishes were ex­tended to Ardeth and Ste­wart Smith who cel­e­brated 59 years of mar­riage.
