P.E.I. Hospital Nursing alumnae members learn crafts

P.E.I. Hospital School of Nursing Alumnae met recently at Andrews of Stratford. Thirty one members enjoyed a demonstrat­ion of several Christmas crafts and decoration­s made by Elizabeth Ghiz using different natural and artificial mediums, colorful cones, ribbons, berries and branches.

Judy Cotton led the business meeting. Eleanor MacMillan read minutes of October meeting. Committee reports revealed busy commitment­s by members. Betsy Houston reported on the Christmas luncheon at the Belvedere Golf Club. Volunteers were recruited to do various duties. Margaret Hatcher circulated a revised wording for our memorial plaque to be placed as a tribute to our school and hospitals. This cairn will be built on the Brighton Road location of the last P.E.I. Hospital and School of Nursing.

The bakeless bake sale is ongoing. Donations are still welcome. The alumnae will meet again on March 15 at 5 pm. Alan Buchanan will present the program. Belated good wishes were extended to Ardeth and Stewart Smith who celebrated 59 years of marriage.
