QEH fundraisin­g concert series resumes Sunday

The musical group, Treble with Girls, is excited to kick off the New Year portion of their winter fundraisin­g concert series, presented by Cardigan Feed Service and Cardigan Bearing and Steel, Sunday, Jan. 17, 2 p.m. at the Irish Cultural Centre, 582 North River Road in Charlottet­own.

“They are even more excited to be welcoming their guests the Chaisson Trio” a news release states.

Featuring Rannie MacLennan on fiddle, vocalist Louise (Chaisson) MacKinnon and Kevin Chaisson on piano, the trio is one of the most popular traditiona­l acts on P.E.I., a news release states. After loosing two of its founding members, Lemmie and Peter Chaisson, the group has continued on with it's tradition of lively fiddle tunes and beautiful Celtic songs.

The afternoon will include a homemade lunch served at intermissi­on, a 50/50 draw and tickets for sale on a WestJet flight for two package.

All ages are welcome with admission by cash only at the door. The shows run every second Sunday afternoon until May with funds being raised to support the QEH Foundation.
