Monc­ton ju­niors down Kens­ing­ton

The Monc­ton Vito’s scored five times in the first pe­riod and cruised to a 7-3 win over the Kens­ing­ton Moase Plumb­ing and Heat­ing Vipers in P.E.I. and New Brunswick ju­nior B hockey ac­tion Satur­day in Monc­ton.

Eric Allen, Erik Lang, Sa­muel Savoie, Philippe-Alexis Va­chon (1-1) and Joseph The­ri­ault did the main dam­age while Allen added an­other goal in the se­cond and Remi Bois’s score capped things in the third.

Monc­ton led 5-1 af­ter the first and 6-3 at the se­cond in­ter­mis­sion, but was out­shot 34-33. The Vito’s went 2-for-6 on the power play. Kens­ing­ton was 1-for-10 with the ex­tra man.

Jor­dan May­hew (1-2), Ryan Kelly and Brian Kelly net­ted the Vipers mark­ers.

Cedric Chiasson earned the win over Cameron Visser.

Sun­day’s game in Tig­nish be­tween the Arse­nault’s Fish Mart Red Wings and Mon­tague Pizza De­light Ma­ni­acs was can­celled.
