Moncton juniors down Kensington

The Moncton Vito’s scored five times in the first period and cruised to a 7-3 win over the Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers in P.E.I. and New Brunswick junior B hockey action Saturday in Moncton.

Eric Allen, Erik Lang, Samuel Savoie, Philippe-Alexis Vachon (1-1) and Joseph Theriault did the main damage while Allen added another goal in the second and Remi Bois’s score capped things in the third.

Moncton led 5-1 after the first and 6-3 at the second intermissi­on, but was outshot 34-33. The Vito’s went 2-for-6 on the power play. Kensington was 1-for-10 with the extra man.

Jordan Mayhew (1-2), Ryan Kelly and Brian Kelly netted the Vipers markers.

Cedric Chiasson earned the win over Cameron Visser.

Sunday’s game in Tignish between the Arsenault’s Fish Mart Red Wings and Montague Pizza Delight Maniacs was cancelled.
