The fu­neral for Harry Nabu­urs was held on Mon­day, De­cem­ber 21, 2015, from Fer­gu­son Lo­gan Mon­tague Fu­neral Home to St. Mary’s Church, Mon­tague. The fu­neral mass was cel­e­brated by Fr. Ger­ard Chais­son, and con­cel­e­brated by Fr. Ge­orge Gilliland, Fr. Robert MacDon­ald and Fr. Bob Coady. Or­gan­ist, Joan Murchi­son, ac­com­pa­nied the St. Mary’s fu­neral choir. Char­lotte Nabu­urs and Gert-Jan Nabu­urs pro­claimed the read­ings. Prayers of the Faith­ful were of­fered by An­nette Ver­schuren. Con­nor Nabu­urs, Coby Nabu­urs, Tony Nabu­urs and Mark Nabu­urs placed the pall on the cas­ket. Of­fer­tory gifts were brought for­ward by Karen Nabu­urs and Matthew Nabu­urs. The ush­ers were James MacPhee, Kevin Power, Mer­rill Con­don and Ge­orge Jack­son. The cross bearer was Nancy MacKin­non. Al­tars servers were John Rowe, Fran­cis Brothers, Mike Ma­cLean and Tony Mol­loy. The mu­sic for the fu­neral mass was: En­trance hymn, Here I Am Lord; psalm, The Lord is My Shep­herd, sung by Peggy Cof­fin; prepa­ra­tion of the gifts, We Re­mem­ber; com­mu­nion hymn, On Ea­gles Wings, sung by Mike Boudreault; in­cens­ing hymn, Songs of the An­gels; and the re­ces­sional, I am the Bread of Life. The eucharist min­is­ter was Sr. El­iz­a­beth Dunn. Pall­bear­ers were Steven Nabu­urs, Paul Nabu­urs, Bruce Mills, Pa­trick Nabu­urs, Ethan Nabu­urs, Harry Nabu­urs, Her­man Van­den­Broek and Andy Willems. Flower­bear­ers were Megan Nabu­urs, Taya Nabu­urs, Karen Nabu­urs, Michelle Nabu­urs, Cathy Nabu­urs and Carol Anne Ver­schuren. Hon­orary flower­bear­ers were Erika Nabu­urs, Bethany Nabu­urs, Lisa Mills, Katie Sher­ren and Trent Mills. Hon­orary pall­bear­ers were all who were in at­ten­dance. The Knights of Colum­bus held prayers at the fu­neral home. Among those at­tend­ing the fu­neral ser­vice were man­age­ment, staff and res­i­dents of Per­rins Ma­rina Villa, staff of Colonel Gray High School and staff of East Wilt­shire School. The com­mit­tal ser­vice took place in St. Mary’s Catholic Ceme­tery, Mon­tague, with prayers at the grave by Fr. Chais­son.
