The funeral for Harry Nabuurs was held on Monday, December 21, 2015, from Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home to St. Mary’s Church, Montague. The funeral mass was celebrated by Fr. Gerard Chaisson, and concelebrated by Fr. George Gilliland, Fr. Robert MacDonald and Fr. Bob Coady. Organist, Joan Murchison, accompanied the St. Mary’s funeral choir. Charlotte Nabuurs and Gert-Jan Nabuurs proclaimed the readings. Prayers of the Faithful were offered by Annette Verschuren. Connor Nabuurs, Coby Nabuurs, Tony Nabuurs and Mark Nabuurs placed the pall on the casket. Offertory gifts were brought forward by Karen Nabuurs and Matthew Nabuurs. The ushers were James MacPhee, Kevin Power, Merrill Condon and George Jackson. The cross bearer was Nancy MacKinnon. Altars servers were John Rowe, Francis Brothers, Mike MacLean and Tony Molloy. The music for the funeral mass was: Entrance hymn, Here I Am Lord; psalm, The Lord is My Shepherd, sung by Peggy Coffin; preparation of the gifts, We Remember; communion hymn, On Eagles Wings, sung by Mike Boudreault; incensing hymn, Songs of the Angels; and the recessional, I am the Bread of Life. The eucharist minister was Sr. Elizabeth Dunn. Pallbearers were Steven Nabuurs, Paul Nabuurs, Bruce Mills, Patrick Nabuurs, Ethan Nabuurs, Harry Nabuurs, Herman VandenBroek and Andy Willems. Flowerbearers were Megan Nabuurs, Taya Nabuurs, Karen Nabuurs, Michelle Nabuurs, Cathy Nabuurs and Carol Anne Verschuren. Honorary flowerbearers were Erika Nabuurs, Bethany Nabuurs, Lisa Mills, Katie Sherren and Trent Mills. Honorary pallbearers were all who were in attendance. The Knights of Columbus held prayers at the funeral home. Among those attending the funeral service were management, staff and residents of Perrins Marina Villa, staff of Colonel Gray High School and staff of East Wiltshire School. The committal service took place in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Montague, with prayers at the grave by Fr. Chaisson.
