Titan wins first of two weekend games with Isles
Reilly Pickard made 36 saves Friday as the Acadie-Bathurst Titan defeated the Charlottetown Islanders 4-3.
Felix Boivin scored the winner on a second period power play for the host Titan in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League play. Daniil Miromanov scored twice and Vladimir Kuznetsov once in the win.
Bradley Kennedy, Mitchell Balmas and Jake Coughler replied for Charlottetown with assists to Filip Chlapik, Samuel Blais, Filip Rydstrom, Kameron Kielly and Keith Getson.
Mason McDonald made 26 saves in the loss.
Charlottetown was 1-for-3 on the power play while the Titan was 1-for-2. The game was tied 11 after the first while AcadieBathurst led 4-3 after 40 minutes.
The Titan (18-23-3-2) and the Islanders (18-22-5-2) meet again Sunday at 3 p.m. in Charlottetown.
