El­lis makes AHL all-star game line-up

East Bide­ford’s Mor­gan El­lis will play in the AHL all-star game.

The 23-yearold de­fence­man was one of a num­ber of ad­di­tions an­nounced on Tues­day to the all-star lineup. The clas­sic will take place Sun­day and Mon­day in Syra­cuse, N.Y.

El­lis has 10 goals and 13 as­sists for 23 points in 42 games this sea­son for the St. John’s Ice­Caps, the Mon­treal Cana­di­ens farm team.

The Habs drafted him in the fourth round (117th over­all) in 2010.

He played for the Cape Bre­ton Scream­ing Ea­gles and was part of the 2012 Me­mo­rial Cup-win­ning Shaw­ini­gan Cataractes with fel­low Is­land blue-liner Bran­don Gorm­ley.

The all-star clas­sic will also in­clude for­mer Char­lot­te­town Is­lan­ders de­fence­man Ryan Graves, a Yar­mouth, N.S., na­tive.
